The giant worm has more advanced mechanism. You can not kill it before you destroy its hearts. If you shoot it the bullets will reflect and not cause any damage. Destroying a heart will reduce the spawn number of the smaller worms. Small worms move towards the player when they fall on the ground. Once the heart is destroyed the veins will start to bleed and you will have to be careful to not get hit by the blood drops. If all hearts are destroyed there will be no more spawning of small worms but the giant worm will start shooting poison.
